Do you struggle with depressive feelings during the holidays? Remember these 3 words to help cope: acknowledge, reconstruct, gratitude.
Don’t suppress those emotions when they appear. Acknowledge them. Bringing them to the light weakens their control over you.
Re-structure those thoughts by shifting the focus from the bad to the good, i.e. if you miss a loved one, focus on your positive memories with them.
Then find something to be grateful for, and redirect your thoughts to what you have now.
